DS-CDMA, artificial immune systems, and clonal selection.
This article proposes a multiobjective artificial immune systems (AIS) based approach for designing complex spreading codes for DS-CDMA. This approach enables us to design complex codes with a wide range of correlation properties. Furthermore, this strategy enables spreading code design with no constraints on the code length, with the ability to construct a theoretical Pareto optimal set of spreading codes. Relative to commonly used spreading code sets, the proposed code sets demonstrate better average mean-square correlation properties. The AIS algorithm is shown to outperform genetic algorithm (GA) based code-design in terms of speed of convergence, as well as variety of solutions.
